Which of the two following descriptions can be read on Starbucks napkins (December 2010)?

1. We’ve got good news. We removed the artificial trans fats, artificial flavors, artificial dyes and high-fructose corn syrup. Now your food not only tastes better, it is better. We hope you enjoy the difference.

2. We’ve got bad news. Whenever you ate at our cafes so far, you ate artificial trans fats, artificial flavors, artificial dyes and high-fructose corn syrup. You food not only tasted much worse, it was worse. We are afraid you will not be very happy to learn this.

Ok, the solution is simple:

But: what is the difference between the two descriptions? An interesting test for your students, if you teach logic, or pragmatics, or both.
